Tyler Irvine is a life-long horseman and a native of Nashville, TN. He began his riding career at six years of age and has rarely been seen off of a horse since. He grew up competing in the Arabian show circuit and working for many acclaimed trainers, including Jack Thomas of Thomas Stables. In 2004 Tyler moved to the Knoxville area to study under renowned Arabian English performance trainer, Joel Kiesner, before starting his own training program in 2008.
Although Tyler specializes in Arabians, he is well-versed in other breeds as well, and currently trains halter, driving, English pleasure, hunter, and gaited horses. Tyler recognizes that every horse-rider team is unique, and your goals will be approached with that in mind. All clients with horses in training receive consistent progress updates and free lessons with their horse. Tyler is 100% committed to helping you reach your personal best with your horse.
Tyler believes that all horses, like people, learn in different ways. He feels very strongly about finding what works for individual horses rather than applying the same techniques to all of the horses in his program. This results in a happier, more confident horse that responds willingly to commands. We have many people tell us about bad experiences their horses have had in training programs. At Irvine Training, we understand that a horse must enjoy its job and be rewarded for progress in order to be a safe, reliable mount. Horses that respond out of fear or anxiety cannot be consistent -- in or out of the show ring. Rest assured that Tyler will create a specific training program for your horse based on its needs, personality, and discipline, so that both of you will be a happy, enthusiastic team.

"I now have my third horse in training with Irvine Training. They are working hard on this gelding and I know we will have another successfully trained horse when Tyler is done. You ROCK!" ~ Kay Griffith
"Tyler and Kari work really hard to create a safe, fun environment for all their customers - from beginners taking lessons to experienced show horse owners. If you want to enjoy your horse in a comfortable, firendly environment, check them out!"
~ Susan Starr
"A great big thank you to our awesome trainer and his manager. It is really a great feeling when you have a 'horse' problem and you know exactly who to go to for help. My daughter is SUPER excited to start riding a very special horse with Irvine Training. And Tyler has a gift with teaching sometimes silly, not-so-confident girls. Anyone who has a horse in the barn is in the lucky, select group of people who know the guy they are paying to do a good job goes above and beyond and does a FABulous job! Kudos to Irvine Training!!!!! And FYI -- If you are looking for someone to help you find the right horse, Tyler really does listen and looks for what you want/need. Pretty amazing the differece in horse shopping with someone around 'on the inside.' AND then he can show you how best to ride/drive to get the most out of your investment."
~ Bev Watkins
"This is the second time I've brought a horse to Tyler. The first time he fixed the canter on my lipizzan mare. This time I brought him a 2 y/o half Saddlebred who didn't even know how to pick up his feet. Now, 6 weeks later, he has lovely ground manners and is under saddle at the walk, trot, and canter and is learni...ng to rack. Tyler trains without traumatizing the horse, and calmly puts up with all my requests. That earns him my vote!" ~ Kathleen Sales
"Can't wait for show season again! Kate is counting the months! Irvine Training ROCKS!" ~ Laura Ash
"SH Lakota has come such along way since being with Irvine Training. We are very proud of his success and can't wait to see him perform in 2010!! !" ~ Terry Andrews
"Wolf looks better and better evertime I come to the barn!" ~ Amy Fields
